5 Tips for Successfully Preparing for a Brand Photo Shoot
I am often asked before a brand shoot day what the client should keep in mind regarding the shoot before the day itself and during the planning phase. Here are 5 tips that may be helpful when preparing for your shoot.

- Before the shoot, I often ask about the company's values, target audience and what these particular images will be used for. What kind of message do you want the images to convey? Sharing this information with the photographer helps in planning the shoot.
- Create a shot list. Either independently with your own team or together with the photographer. Make a list of the specific images or situations you particularly want captured during the shoot. This ensures that no important shot is missed.
- Think about what clothing you want the staff appearing in the images to wear, and communicate this well before the shoot day. Is it a company/brand uniform or shirt, or can they wear their own clothes? If they are wearing their own clothes, they should avoid garments with busy patterns or logos.
- Pre-selected shooting locations should be clean and tidy so that the images reflect the best possible picture of your brand. Tidying up should be done before the shoot so it doesn't eat into the actual shooting time.
- Does the company have any brand-related items? Mugs, notebooks or pens in the brand colours and/or with the logo? If so, these can be used in the images to reinforce the brand message.
