Drone Photography and Videography

Stunning aerial photos and videos

Drone photography brings a new perspective to your communications. Aerial photos and videos are perfect for construction site documentation, real estate showcases, events, and landscape photography.

Professional equipment and official certifications

I use DJI Mavic 4 Pro and DJI Air 3 drones, which produce exceptionally high-quality material in both photography and video. The equipment enables shooting in varying conditions — windy weather, low light and demanding environments.

I hold EASA and Traficom approved drone pilot certificates in categories A1/A3 and A2. This means I am authorised to fly closer to people and structures than basic licence categories permit. I handle all flight-related permits, notifications and safety assessments on your behalf — you don't need to worry about the bureaucracy.

Insurance is in order and I comply with aviation regulations without exception on every flight.

Where is drone photography used?

Aerial photography adds value to a wide range of projects. The most common applications include:

Construction site documentation — Regular aerial images at different project stages document progress and serve as proof of work quality. Aerial photos are invaluable in reporting to clients and investors.

Property presentations — Aerial images show a property's location, surroundings and true plot size in a way ground-level photos cannot. Especially useful when selling larger properties and plots.

Industrial sites and factory premises — The scale and layout of large industrial areas are best understood from the air. Aerial images work well in company presentations, annual reports and proposal materials.

Events — Aerial photos and videos add spectacle and scale to event coverage. Particularly effective for outdoor events, trade fairs and sporting events.

Landscape and environmental photography — Nature, waterways and landscapes from the air reveal views that would otherwise be impossible. Suitable for tourism and environmental communications.

Energy projects — Wind farms, solar installations and energy infrastructure documented from above. Aerial images illustrate the scope and completion stage of a project.

Agriculture — Fields, farmsteads and production buildings from the air. Aerial images are well suited for farm presentations and applications.

How a drone shoot works

Drone photography requires more advance preparation than a standard shoot. Permits, weather conditions and flight safety must be considered for every project.

Assessment and permits — I check the location, any flight restrictions and permit requirements. I verify whether the area has no-fly zones and submit the necessary flight notifications to authorities. This all happens behind the scenes — you don't need to worry.

Flight plan — I create a plan defining flight routes, camera angles and the optimal time of day. Sun direction and height significantly affect aerial image quality, so timing is planned carefully.

Weather monitoring — Drone photography is weather dependent. I actively monitor forecasts and we agree on a backup date in case conditions are unfavourable. Safety is never compromised for the sake of a schedule.

The shoot — On the shoot day, I perform safety checks and fly according to plan. A typical drone session lasts one to two hours depending on the site. I review the material on location to ensure sufficient coverage.

Post-production and delivery — I professionally edit the aerial photos and videos. Colour correction, stabilisation and editing ensure the material is ready to use as is.

Drone photographer in Oulu and Northern Finland

I have carried out aerial photography in Oulu and Northern Finland at construction sites, industrial areas, properties and events. I know the local flight regulations, weather conditions and the best shooting times across the seasons. The long summer days of the north offer excellent light for aerial photography, and winter's snowy landscapes give subjects a unique character. I also serve clients elsewhere in Finland.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you use a drone in your shoots?

Yes, when it adds value to the shoot and conditions and permits allow. Aerial images are particularly suited to industrial photography, construction sites, property presentations and events. I hold EASA and Traficom approved drone pilot certificates (A1/A3 and A2) and handle all permit matters on your behalf.

Can photography and video be combined on the same day?

Yes, and I often recommend it. In hybrid shooting, both photos and video are captured on the same day, keeping the visual style consistent while saving you time and costs. This works particularly well for reference, brand and industrial photography.

What file formats do you deliver?

I deliver images in JPEG format, both optimised for web use (sRGB) and as high-resolution files suitable for print (AdobeRGB). Videos are delivered in MP4 format in Full HD or 4K resolution depending on the intended use.

How many photos will I receive?

The number of images depends on the type and scope of the shoot. A personal brand shoot typically produces 5–15 images, staff photography 1–3 images per person, and larger brand or corporate shoots from dozens to hundreds of images. We agree on the specifics during our initial conversation.

How should we prepare for the shoot?

I always provide clear preparation guidelines before the shoot day. For portrait and brand photography, you receive tips on clothing and space preparation. For industrial photography, I review safety requirements in advance. You don't need to worry about the details — I guide the entire process.

Will the photography disrupt work or the event?

No. I always work as unobtrusively as possible. For corporate photography, I plan the schedule so the shoot doesn't disrupt normal operations. At events, I move through the audience unobtrusively. In industrial environments, I photograph on production's terms.

How do I book a shoot?

Get in touch by email, WhatsApp or the contact form. Briefly describe what kind of photography you need and when, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. The initial consultation and quote are always free of charge.

Is post-production included in the price?

Yes. All my photography services include professional post-production — colour correction, light and shadow adjustments and image finishing. In product photography and brand photography, post-production may be more extensive, such as background replacement or advanced retouching, and this is reflected in the pricing.

How quickly are the photos ready?

Edited images are typically delivered within one week of the shoot. For event photography, a selection of images can be delivered for social media use the same evening. In urgent cases, such as an approaching tender or publication deadline, expedited delivery is possible.

How does pricing work?

Pricing depends on the type of shoot, its scope and the amount of post-production. For example, an individual portrait session at the studio is priced as a package, while larger brand photography and industrial photography projects are priced on a project basis. Request a quote — tell me what you need and I'll put together a clear proposal.

Do you shoot outside Oulu?

Yes. You can book me for shoots anywhere in Finland. For shoots outside Oulu, travel and accommodation costs are added to the price. For product photography, products can also be sent to the studio by post.

What if the weather is bad on the shoot day?

For drone photography and outdoor shoots, we always agree on a backup date in advance. Safety and image quality are never compromised because of weather. Studio sessions and indoor shoots are naturally unaffected by the weather.

Do you shoot at the company's premises or in the studio?

Both options work. Brand, staff and corporate photography are often carried out at the company's own premises, bringing the authentic working environment into the images. Individual portrait sessions and product photography are typically done at my studio in Maikkula, Oulu. We can also combine studio and location photography on the same day.

Do we get full usage rights?

Yes. You receive broad usage rights for your company's marketing and communications use in accordance with the agreed terms.
